William Paterson invites applications for the full-time 12 month position of Program Assistant, A.S. in the WP Online Student Success Services Department.

 

Reporting to the Director, the Program Assistant is directly responsible for the coordination and supervision of several significant operational components of WP Online Student Success Services. 

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Front-line administrator responsible to serve the University constituency in the area of new incoming and continuing WP Online Undergraduate students.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the daily administrative functions for WPONL.
  • Formulate and work in collaboration with the director and assistant director in the dissemination of internal and external communications to various constituency --- prospective and currently enrolled students and University community.
  • Support WPONL staff with new students’ onboarding and success services.
  • Serve as an information resource to students and University constituency.
  • Promote, assist and participate in student information sessions, engagement activities and events representing WPONL, i.e., Live Asynchronous Orientation, Advisor Check-In, Financial Aid Workshop, etc.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to project employees and graduate and student assistants.
  • Assist and maintain WPONL non-salary budget, submit and monitor requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Oversee project employee, graduate and student assistant time-sheets and monitor WPONL part-time and student assistant accounts.
  • Utilize Starfish (Navigate) and assist in tracking cohorts of students’ academic progress and out-reach to those in various categories of academic jeopardy/failure, responding to students’ inquiries and making referrals.
  • Develop and maintain WPONL website.
  • Generate and publish content using web and social media technology to maintain regular communication with students and University community.
  • Compile data and assist WPONL staff in preparing cohort management statistics, persistence figures, and departmental comprehensive report detailing yearly initiatives and undertakings.

 

 

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree.

Note: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year for year basis.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • The Program Assistant must possess the ability to effectively handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal, customer service orientation and organizational skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel required, and Adobe Acrobat 6.0 and Ellucian Banner Database preferred.
