Two (2) One-year Replacement positions at the Instructor or Assistant Professor Rank

 

William Paterson University invites applications for two (2) one-year positions at the Instructor or Assistant Professor rank in the Department of Public Health, beginning Fall 2022.  Positions require teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and participation in support of students’ academic development.

 

Department overview:

 

The Department of Public Health is located in the College of Science and Health, which is one of four comprehensive and diverse colleges at William Paterson University.  The Department of Public Health offers undergraduate Bachelor of Science (BS) programs in public health promotion and health studies, as well as a graduate Master of Public Health (MPH) program.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses within the approved curriculum in some of the following specialties:  therapeutic nutrition, research methods, epidemiology, health policy, program planning,  public health leadership, health education, or health communication, in various modalities which can .  include both in-person, hybrid and online teaching.

Participation in activities of the department, college and university, including program and course assessment, support of student retention and enrollment, and potential committee service where applicable

 

Required qualifications:

 

  • Earned doctorate in public health or a public health discipline preferred, ABD acceptable.
  • Documented evidence of excellence in college teaching.

 

Preferred qualifications:

 

  • Public health practice experience is strongly preferred.
  • Current certification as CHES, MCHES, or CPH is preferred.
