William Paterson University invites applications for three (3) tenure track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing, College of Science and Health, with a start date of August 25, 2022.

 

Specialty areas for consideration: Pediatrics, Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Geriatric Nurse Practitioner

Our growing program typically consists of over 1000 undergraduates, over 500 Masters-level students and over 30 DNP students.  Our graduates go on to significant clinical, academic, research, supervisory, and administrator-level positions.

 

We are looking for faculty committed to our academic endeavor of teaching excellence, mentoring of students, and commitment and evidence of a scholarly/research agenda. The department is nationally accredited by CCNE.

William Paterson University Nursing Department is flourishing in all programs/specialty areas. This academic breadth provides a variety of opportunities that will afford a focused and fulfilling professional experience.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Teaching

 

  • Teach online and on-campus, including clinical courses
  • Develop course content, objectives, and methods of student assessment; maintain currency in the field
  • Participate in program and learning assessment
  • Provide students with consistent and effective support and guidance through modeling, mentoring and potential advisement
  • Contribute to student success through curriculum development, excellent pedagogy and meaningful learning experiences, and through accessibility to students including observance of office hours.
  • Contribute to the strategic and academic goals of the department, college and university through teaching and engagement
  • Other teaching duties as assigned, depending on departmental needs

 

Service

  • Contribute to the success of the department and its students, attend department meetings and activities, engage in professional development for instructional personnel
  • Serve on select council and/or university level committees
  • Serve as required in community service activities and other service duties as assigned.

 

Scholarship

  • Develop, implement, and maintain an active, ongoing program of nursing scholarship
  • Disseminate findings via scholarly publication and presentation/grant activities

Qualifications:

 

  • Doctorate required – PhD, EdD, DNP or health-related doctorates with evidence of scholarly achievement
  • Master’s Degree in nursing required if doctorate in a discipline other than nursing
  • ABD considered at initial appointment of Instructor; doctoral degree must be completed by March 1 of the year following appointment to be considered for reappointment.
  • RN license or eligible – State of NJ
  • Certification in a specialized area encouraged
  • Experience in undergraduate or graduate teaching in didactic and/or clinical settings preferred
  • Experience in research – clinical and/or basic sciences will be considered
  • Evidence of scholarly accomplishment commensurate with expected rank.
