William Paterson University invites application for the full-time position of Simulation Coordinator within the Department of Nursing in the College of Science and Health.

Reporting to the Chair, Department of Nursing, the Simulation Coordinator is responsible for the oversight and management of the Nursing Simulation Center.  In collaboration with the Learning Center Coordinator, provides clinical, educational, and technical expertise in the development, implementation, and evaluation of all simulation-based clinical nursing activities across all levels and programs.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Executes the educational, technical, and the operational aspects of all human patient simulators and all clinical simulation experiences for faculty and students.
• Trains and acts as a resource to faculty and students in simulation and other electronic/technical components of the curriculum.
• Collaborates with faculty in the development and assessment of simulated clinical scenarios to meet course learning objectives.
• Assists in the development, implementation, enforcement, and maintenance of safety policies and procedures for the simulation laboratories.
• Performs demonstrations on the use and operation of simulators.
• Compiles and maintains evaluation data on all simulated clinical experiences.
• Coordinates equipment maintenance schedules, maintains liaison with simulator companies to ensure reliable operation of equipment.
• Maintains currency in nursing simulation technology and trends.
• Helps to maintain all nursing laboratories and storage areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned that are appropriate for the position.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field
• Current nursing license, ability to obtain NJ nursing license if other than NJ licensure
• Two (2) years of related experience that includes simulation technology and patient care
• Ability to work with computer mediated learning strategies.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and expertise in audiovisual equipment, digital media, video streaming, and electronic learning environments
• Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, as needed
• Ability to work effectively online using platforms such as Zoom and Teams

Additional, preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree in a field related to the position
• Certificate or willingness to obtain certificate in simulation
