Comm Disorders and Sciences

William Paterson University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track teaching professional at the Instructor level in the Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences within the College of Science and Health with a starting date of August 2023.

 

The Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences offers both bachelors and masters degrees. The Department includes a vibrant on-campus Speech and Hearing Clinic that provides diagnostic and treatment services to the community. The department and clinic are located in a new, state-of-the-art building on our beautiful 370-acre suburban campus in Wayne, New Jersey, just twenty miles west of New York City.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Teaching: 

  • Teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses as per department need both online and face-to-face
  • Supervise clinic as per expertise and department need
  • Support students in their academic endeavors

Service:

  • Participate in the variety of service opportunities within the department, college, and university community including advising and mentoring students
  • Engage in assessment of student learning
  • Attend department and college meetings as required and engage in activities of the department

Required qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (or higher) in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching; ability to teach online or willingness to learn
  • New Jersey Licensure or eligibility for NJ Licensure in speech-language pathology.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written format.
  • Able to navigate a diverse environment with competing perspectives.
  • Capable of working collaboratively in a complex environment.
