William Paterson University invites application for the full-time position of Information Tech Specialist.

Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Information Systems, the position provides support and technical expertise to institutional departments in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise software systems. 

 

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Develops web-based applications and sites
  • Creates and designs reports utilizing SQL and other report writing tools.
  • Works with external software vendors and consultants to integrate software systems.
  • Explores topics on emerging technologies and examines their potential impact on current systems.
  • Troubleshoots and documents defects/potential patches or fixes.
  • Other duties as appropriate for the position.
  • Hybrid remote work schedule available depending upon institutional need.                                                                                                               

 

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer/Information Technology, or a related field.
  • One (1) or more years’ experience providing technical support for enterprise software systems. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with an internship or technical part-time work experience may substitute for required full-time work experience.
  • Experience with programming languages and frameworks including PHP, ColdFusion, JQuery, PLSQL, and Responsive Web Design techniques
  • Experience with ERP systems and databases
  • Experience with SAS reporting software

 

Additional, preferred qualifications

  • Experience in a Higher Education environment
