Tenure Track Nursing Faculty (Job ID:1508)

William Paterson University invites applications for two (2) full-time tenure-track Nursing faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor.  Expected start date is August 2023 or sooner.

The Department of Nursing programs are committed to preparing nurses to deliver culturally sensitive, caring, and competent nursing care to diverse clients in a variety of settings.  Our growing nursing program typically consists of more than 1,000 undergraduates and over 500 graduate (Masters, post- Masters and DNP) who go on to significant clinical, academic, research, supervisory and administrator-level positions.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to

Teaching:

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, online, hybrid and face-to-face
  • Develop course content, objectives and measures per department need
  • Provide students with consistent and effective support and guidance for retention and success
  • Contribute to student success through curriculum and program development as well as program and learning assessment
  • Contribute to the strategic and academic goals of the department, college and university through teaching, service and engagement

Service:

  • Contribute to the success of the department and its students, attend department meetings and activities, engage in professional development for instructional personnel
  • Participate in select department, college and university committees designed to enhance didactic processes and/or programs
  • Serve as required in community service activities and other service/professional duties as assigned
  •  

Scholarship:

  • Develop, implement and maintain an active ongoing program of professional development and scholarship in one’s field and discipline;
  • Disseminate findings via scholarly publication and presentation/grant activities.

 

Qualifications:

  • Earned Doctorate (PhD/DNP); ABD considered at initial appointment of Instructor; doctoral degree must be completed by March 1 of the year following appointment to be considered for reappointment.
  • Master’s Degree in nursing if doctorate is in a discipline other than nursing
  • Evidence of scholarly achievement
  • Expertise and recent hospital-based clinical medical-surgical experience where applicable
  • Ability to work effectively on standard online platforms such as Teams and Zoom
  • RN license or eligible – State of New Jersey

 

Additional, preferred qualifications

  • Experience in undergraduate or graduate teaching in didactic and/or clinical settings
  • Certification in area of specialization, e.g. Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
